By air: After reaching Bagdogra airport you can avail of car rental service in Bagdogra till Gangtok. From there you can hire a car to reach North Sikkim at a distance of 130 kilometers. It takes approximately 5 hours and 16 minutes.

By road: You can book a car or taxi from Siliguri to reach North Sikkim via Gangtok which will offer you road sightseeing at a distance of 214 kilometers and it will take 7 hours and 54 minutes approximately.

By rail: After reaching the railway station you can avail car rental from NJP and reach North Sikkim via Gangtok at a distance of 8 hours and 3 minutes covering a distance of 218 kilometers.

Day 1: NJP/Bagdogra to North Sikkim

After you reach NJP/Bagdogra you can meet ourΒ travel agents in Siliguri, India who will help to board the vehicle and will explain the details of the tour. The drive from Siliguri to Gangtok is filled with many road sightseeing and the gorgeous Teesta River is a treat to the eyes.

Passing amidst the winding roads you will reach Gangtok. Check into the hotel and get refreshed. In the evening you can visit the most happening place of Gangtok, MG road and enjoy the nightlife of the state of Sikkim.

Day 2: Full day Gangtok sightseeing

Early morning after our breakfast we will leave for local sightseeing in Gangtok which includes

  • Ganesh Tok
  • Hanuman Tok

These places will offer panoramic views of the Mt. Kanchenjunga and the main Gangtok city.

After lunch at some restaurant nearby you can proceed to

  • Rumtek Monastery
  • Ban Jhakri Falls
  • Institute of Tibetology to have a glance of the Tibetan culture,
  • Do Drul Chorten

In the evening you can visit MG Marg for shopping and relishing the Sikkimese delicacy at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass

After breakfast, you can leave for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake which is one of the highest altitude Himalayan Lake.

It is a beautiful oval shaped lake with its average depth of 50 feet is a beauty in itself.

You can further drive to Nathula Pass towards China border depending upon the accessibility of the route.

We will be back to Gangtok by late afternoon and in the evening you will be free around the local markets of Gangtok.

Day 4: Lachen to Yumthang Valley

After early morning breakfast, you can proceed to Lachen. The route meanders through small villages and winds up to the forest grove of Kabi Langchuk. Singhik is another promising sight to offer the best views of Kanchenjunga and it is a desired place for a break on the way to Lachen.

After having lunch on the way you can visit Yumthang valley after a 2 hours drive. It is an extremely picturesque landscape with green slopes covered with trees and a river flowing across the valley will leave you awe-struck. You can reach Lachung in the late afternoon and have a leisure stay at a hotel.

Day 5: Lachung to Gurudongmar Lake

After breakfast leave for Lachung sightseeing which is another remote village in North Sikkim with snowy peaks, vibrant rhododendron valley, perennial waterfalls, hot springs and a base for the valley of Yumthang and Yumesamdong.

You can have lunch on the way to your 4 hours drive to reach Gurudongmar Lake via Chopta Valley. It is close to Tibet border and is one of the highest and the biggest freshwater lakes in Sikkim and you can return back to Lachung for late lunch and spend your evening roaming around Lachung.

Day 6: Zero point to Mount Katao

Early morning after breakfast you can drive to Zero Point. On the way, you can enjoy the scenic landscape and drive further to your destination. Zero point is close to Tibet border which is one of the highest motorable roads in Sikkim and it remains covered with snow throughout the year.

While driving way back you can take a break for an hour and then head to Mount Katao which is one of the most popular sights to watch. You can try your adventure skills in skiing, snowboarding and it is a must to take permits before visiting these points. Return to Lachung and check into a hotel for a comfortable stay.

Day 7: Phensang Monastery to Seven Sisters waterfall

After breakfast, you can head to one of the most attractive places in North Sikkim, Phensang Monastery. It is one of the most peaceful and soul-soothing regions in Sikkim which will offer a spiritual feeling altogether.

On your way back to Lachung you can visit the Seven Sisters waterfall. It is one of the most famous waterfalls and is a not to miss out the place while in Sikkim.

After lunch at a hotel in Lachung, you can drive back to Gangtok later in the evening and check into a hotel and have a leisure stay.

Day 8: Final departure from Gangtok to NJP/Bagdogra
